According to legend, Vallarta´s preferred beach “Playa los Muertos” was the site of a bloody clash between pirates and Indians. Over the years, there have been several failed attemps to give the lively beach a more cheerful name, including the sunnier “Playa del Sol”, but habit and story prevailed.
